St. Louis

I was privileged to go with two fellow teachers to the NSTA (National Science Teachers Association) conference held in St. Louis last month. What a place! I loved the whole experience. The conference had an unbelievable amount of vendors and displays. There was not enough time to do them all justice. In addition, the workshops and lectures were amazing. I learned so much in that short time. I loved finding out about new hands-on activities such as how to use fruit snacks, graham crackers and frosting to show the movement of the continental plates. One of the workshops I went to given by the Smithsonian Institute let some of us bring home some animal footprint casts. I even got to bring home some millipedes! (It was an interesting time at the security point at the airport.) St. Louis was awesome, too. Good restaurants and great sites. What an experience going up into the Gateway Arch. The tiny, cramped elevator--with no air conditioning. I can't imagine how it would be in the summer. One of the employees told us it was not very nice--the smell and the heat! But the view from up there was great. One day, at my motel, I looked out of my window I watched a rainbow form. It ended up by the arch!!! What a sight! Anyway, I'd love to go to another NSTA conference some day and I'd love to go back to St. Louis, as well.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall!

Haven't you wondered how other people do it? Are they as in debt as me? How can they afford that? So on and so on. I'd love to find out how people, who seem to be in the same bracket as me, manage to do so well. What is their secret? If you happen to know, please fill me in.

First Time Blogger

I've never blogged before. I'm not even sure what I am supposed to do. I guess I'll just talk about events in my life--however dull they may be. Hopefully, I'll have the opportunity to write about something exciting. We'll just have to wait and see.
